Prolene is a Monofilament Polypropylene non absorbable suture. It provides permanent tensile strength retention in tissue even in the presence of infection. it has a smooth surface that does nor support bacterial growth.
Care should be taken to avoid damage to the surface of the material with surgical instruments as this could lead to fracture of the material
